I have configured an application to use Atomikos JTA Transaction Manager. There is a single XADataSource (MySQL) and a single JMS message broker (OpenMQ).
I am having trouble with the XA operation failing upon resume. The issues I'm having and the Spring configuration are outlined in this message on the Spring forum: http://forum.springframework.org/showthread.php?t=64236 Please if anyone can help I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance. --James
The problem is MySQL and its poor XA support:

In order to verify this I have tried using Derby, but without success. The issues I'm dealing with and the Spring/Hibernate/Atomikos configurations are outlined in this thread: http://www.nabble.com/Not-creating-database-and-executeQuery()-errors-with-Hibernate%2BSpring%2BAtomikos-to20801068.html
I'm not sure if this is an issue with Atomikos or Derby. I am trying to install Postgres in order to try that DB as well, but really I would like to be able to use MySQL. Am I just out of luck if I want to use XA transactions in an application which must interface with MySQL, or do I need to use another solution for XA? Thanks. --James
Hi,
The Derby must be some other issue. We don't know the answer straightaway but if you have a budget for <a href="http://www.atomikos.com/Main/ProductSupport">developer support</a> then we can try to find the explanation for the problem. Best Guy |
