On integrating Atomikos with Tomcat as per http://www.atomikos.com/Documentation/Tomcat6Integration33 I see following in tm.out-

09-03-03 11:31:06,134 [main] cannot load SLF4J, skipping this console
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.slf4j.Logger
    . . .

though after that logging happens without any further errors. So it looks safe to ignore SLF4J error log. Is it true or SLF4J library should be made available in classpath?

Safe to ignore. Our tm.out files contain all the logging needed. You only need SLF4J if you want to relay all output to log4j as well.
